Eva Pearl (King) Stephens
Graveside services for Eva Pearl Stephens, 87 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2011 at Woodside Cemetery with Bro. Ronald Cantrell officiating.
Mrs. Stephens went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 13, 2011. She was born on March 16, 1924 in Van Zandt County to Thomas Carl King and Eula Mae Freeman King. She attended and graduated from Grand Saline High School in 1941. Eva Pearl married John Mitchell Stephens on March 26, 1945 and celebrated 64 years of a very blessed marriage until separated by the death of John Mitchell Stephens in December of 2009.
Eva Pearl was a devoted, faithful, loving Christian wife and the mother of five children whom she loved and cherished. Jimmy was the first born mischief maker who always had a special place in her heart. Marcheta was the responsible independent daughter. Laquita was the middle daughter who always had a flair for fun. Timmy had a head for business enterprises even as a young boy. Jocheta was her Mom’s darling baby girl forever and always. In her own words, Eva Pearl’s love for her children grew stronger every day of their lives. Her children were her greatest joy in life and gave her great pride in watching each of them grow into the beautiful adults they are today. The gift of her love shines on each of their lives and will be a very present hope until they are reunited.
Eva Pearl was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and was active in the Choir, the Seekers Sunday School Class, and the Fun After 55 Group.
Survivors include two sons: Jimmy W. Stephens and wife Sarah, Timothy R. Stephens and wife, Lisa; and three daughters: Mary Marcheta Godwin, Laquita A. Dudley, and Jocheta L. Bryant, 9 grandchildren, Maggie Hope Stephens, Lacey Williams, Craig Williams, Tisha Ann Stephens, Michael Shaun Reynolds, Marcus Shawn Dudley, Tamara Kathleen Stephens, Kristie Sperl, Harmony Ann Stephens, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Into God’s loving presence, may her precious soul gently take her place among the angels.
