Joyce Stevenson

Services for Joyce L. Stevenson, 90, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Presswood and Terry Tolar officiating.
Interment will follow in Creagleville Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stevenson passed away May 25, 2016, in Grand Saline. She was born March 2, 1926, in Grand Saline to Dewitt Monroe & Willie Lee Waits Grier. Joyce was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class at Main Street Baptist Church. She spent her early years in Grand Saline, she married Bill Stevenson and they moved to Canada for 9 years; lived in Calcutta, India for 2 years; then lived in Mississippi, Louisiana, Fairbanks, Alaska and Dallas before moving back to Grand Saline in 1972. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Stevenson; and two brothers, Robert Lee Grier and Billy Joe Grier.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lee & Bob Stringer of Grand Saline; three grandchildren, Emily & Char McGaughy of Dallas, Thomas & Lorrie Erwin of Canton and Will & Alizabeth Erwin of Martins Mill; one great-granddaughter, Winry Erwin; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Grier of Grand Saline and Doris Grier of Edgewood; two nephews, Butch Grier and Ricky Grier, both of Grand Saline; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Erwin, Will Erwin, Joseph Grier, Jordan Grier, Jeff Stringer and Steven Buchanan.
Memorials may be made to Azalea Trails Nursing & Rehabilitation Center or to the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
