Gearld Taylor

Graveside services for Gearld Thomas Taylor, 85, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Salem Cemetery, Alba, with Byron George officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Mr. Taylor passed away February 20, 2023, in Quitman. He was born May 16, 1937, in Alba, to Odis Thomas and Vyra Gilbreath Taylor. He lived all his life in the Alba area. On November 3, 1978, he married Freida Lynn Hawthorn in Alba. Gearld was funny, witty, and a very hard worker. He was a truckdriver and drove millions of miles. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 28 years, Freida Taylor; and son, Dewayne Taylor.

Survivors include his four daughters, Delaine Lusk and husband Don of Tyler, Cassandra Gross and husband Luke of Hawkins, Lytchia Foster of Alba, and Michelle Freeman of Chandler; sister, Betty Alexander of Alba; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
