ALBA – Services for Ollie Babbs Galyean Thomas, 81, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Alba, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Kelly Burton officiating.
Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, Grand Saline.
Mrs. Thomas passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at a hospital in Tyler.
She was born Wednesday, October 10, 1934, in Alba, TX, to the late Wilburn Horace and Berenece Osborn Galyean. She lived most of her life in Alba and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Alba.
Babbs was a homemaker, a seamstress and church pianist since age 16. She was also a piano teacher.
Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, David & Lisa Thomas of Denton and John & Beth Thomas of Overland Park, KS; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth & Roger Walcik of Gilmer and Danita Rogers of Grand Saline; two brothers, Larry & Brenda Galyean of Henderson and Wayne & Wanda Galyean of Sulphur Springs; sister, Dianne Haisten of Alba; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William “Bill” Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Joel Thomas, Bailey Rogers, Branson Rogers, Daron Fraim, Cory Tomlin, and Clint Russell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Haisten, Keith Haisten, and Allen Galyean.
Family visitation will be at the funeral home Friday evening 6-8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 219 E. Holley St, Alba, TX 75410 for Family Life Center.
