Avis Thompson

Mrs. Avis Loven Thompson, 87, of Grand Saline, passed away July 13, 2016. She was born November 17, 1928, in Edgewood to Corinne Aris Currey & Floyd Carl Loven Sr. She spent all of her life in Grand Saline where she graduated the GSHS Class of 1946 and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James E. Thompson, Sr., and four brothers.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Thompson and wife Marilyn of Grand Saline; two daughters, Ann Thompson and Patsy Tunnell, both of Grand Saline; brother, Floyd Loven, Jr. and wife Judy of Trinidad; sisters, Frances Fisher and Faye Ann Pearson, both of Grand Saline; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a memorial service 2 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Corinth Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Smith, Bro. Mark Winskie, Bro. Floyd Loven and Bro. Wayne Tunnell officiating.
