Danny Thompson

Danny Jay Thompson, 78, passed away March 18, 2023, at his residence in Grand Saline. He was born July 12, 1944, in Lewisville, to Frank and Edna Brown Thompson. Danny was a member of Riverside Mission Church, Grand Saline. He retired from the city of Carrollton, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He served in the United States Army and was a member of VFW Post 6635. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brenda Story Thompson; son, Little Dan; sister, Charlotte Calvary; two brothers, Frankie Thompson and Ben Thompson; and two stepbrothers, Robert Long and Donnie Long.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Glenda Petty of Grand Saline; two daughters, Amanda McMillon and husband James of Grand Saline and Patricia Dianne Schwab of South Carolina; two brothers, Ronnie Thompson and wife Shirley of Gilmer and Jimmie Long and wife Margie of Ben Franklin; two sisters, Shirley Gomez and husband Joey of Lewisville and Verdie Carson and husband Junior of Gustine; seven grandchildren, Hailey McMillon, Sierra McMillon, Devin McMillon, Hannah McMillon, Camron Schwab, Savana Monsche-Wilson, and Patrick Wilson; and numerous other relatives and friends.
