Services for Mildred “Bill” Thompson, 90 of Fruitvale, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Homer Morgan officiating.
Interment will be in Creagleville Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson passed away April 14, 2013 in Fruitvale. She was born May 28, 1922 in Van Zandt County to Luther & Anita McClain Williams. She spent most of her life in Van Zandt County and was a member of Roundflat Pentecostal Church. She was a housewife and devoted mother and grandmother. She worked several years as a seamstress at a local sewing factory. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.B. Thompson; brother, Leonard Williams; sister, Reba Williams Lipsey; and son-in-law, Junior Watson.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Watson of Fruitvale and Judy Pirtle of Canton; brother, Joe Doyle & Evanell Williams of Grand Saline; granddaughter, Sandy Wheeler and husband James of Edgewood; 4 great-grandchildren, Ronny Golightly and fiancé Chasity Fulcher of Fruitvale, Ashley Fikes and husband Mike of Fruitvale, Joseph Read and fiancé Jessica Smith of Wills Point and Shelbie Wheeler of Wills Point; 8 great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee Golightly, Chasity Huber, Maddison Fikes, Trevor Golightly, Desh Golightly, Makenzie Fikes, Jordan Fulcher and Kaleb Smith; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
