Judy Thorn

Services for Judy Kay Hart Thorn, 78, of Tyler, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2023, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Dr. Mark Neeley officiating.

Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.

Mrs. Thorn went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus, July 6, 2023, in Tyler. She was born February 15, 1945, in Tyler, to Wilford Glen and Myrtle Irene Herbert Hart. On September 19, 1964, she married Buddy Thorn in Mineola. Judy moved from Mineola to Tyler in 2012. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mineola, and then Green Acres Baptist Church South, Flint. She was a schoolteacher for 24 years, and prior to that was a Child Protective and Elderly Protective Case worker. Mrs. Thorn enjoyed time with friends and family. She was very artistic and her hobbies included painting, drawing, sewing, quilting, and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, S.W. McInnis; and husband, Buddy Thorn.

Survivors include her two daughters, Kerri Sue Thorn of Alba and Kristi Huskey and husband Lance of Tyler; five grandchildren, Amber Brian, Kimber Stevens, Samantha Barker, Kaitlyn Huskey, and Tony Hass; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Lance Huskey, Alvin Huskey, Stan Stevens, Matt Stevens, Tony Hass, Chris Ussery, Adam Webb, and Vargas.
