Services for Mr. Ronald “Bear” Thorn, 71 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating.
Mr. Thorn passed away May 14, 2012 in a Grand Saline nursing home. He was born October 19, 1940 in Willow Springs to Willis Darwin & Helen Lovell Foster Thorn. He spent all of his life in Van Zandt County where he was a master carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Thorn of Grand Saline; son and daughter-in-law, Ron & Melody Thorn of Grand Saline; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda & Kelly Williams of Mineola, Bonita & Joe Herron of Grand Saline, Tami Thorn of Castle Rock, CO; four brothers and sisters-in-law, David Thorn of Mesquite, Darrell Thorn of Edgewood, Johnny & Brenda Thorn of Garland, Dennis & Julie Thorn of Georgia; six grandchildren, Randall Gann, Lacy Gann, Brad Thorn, Breanna Thorn, Ali Herron, and Willis Thorn; and one great-grandchild, Righlan Gann.
