Services for Lou Tidwell, 89 of Grand Saline are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Reggie Day officiating.
Interment will be 2 p.m., Thursday in Woodmen Cemetery, Dekalb.
Mrs. Tidwell passed away February 7, 2012 in Grand Saline. She was born May 21, 1922 in New Boston to Thomas Jefferson & Violet Russell Hardy. She owned/operated Tidwell Floral in New Boston for many years. After moving to Grand Saline, she worked for Mae Youngblood’s Floral Shop. She lived in Grand Saline for the last 56 years where she was a member of First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Tidwell and son-in-law, Dennis Land.
Survivors include daughter, Carolyn Land of Grand Saline; brother-in-law, Bill & Mary Tidwell of Texarkana; grandchildren, Lisa Land and Russell Land of Grand Saline; great-grandchildren, Jacob Hollingsworth; great-great-grandchild, Rylan Hollingsworth; and cousins, Ceil Nicholson and Vivian Lawler of Hallsville.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Barker, Clyde Earl, Jason Earl, Tommy Copeland, Bobby Land and Russell Land.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012.
