Services for Woodrow McCoy “Woody” Tyson, 71, of Grand Saline, will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Bartley Funeral Home in Grand Saline with Chaplain David Hicks officiating.
Interment will follow in Haven of Memories Cemetery, Canton.
Mr. Tyson passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014. He was born February 9, 1943 in Ft. Worth to Woodrow Olin and Vivian Long Tyson. On April 9, 1970, he married Jyme Bertram. He spent most of his life in Ft. Worth and the last six years in Grand Saline.
He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Olin Tyson; step-father, John Corder; and nephew, Steven Hughes.
Mr. Tyson is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jyme Tyson of Grand Saline; mother, Vivian Lucretia Long Corder of Fort Worth; three sons, Michael Boggs of Weatherford, Derek Tyson and wife Christi of Canton, and Donovan Tyson and wife LaDonna of Saginaw; two daughters, Lezli Busbee and husband Reagan of Houston, and Natalee Thompson and husband Tommy of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, John Larry Tyson and wife Donna of Haslet; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Binford and husband Charles of Plano, and Karen Hughes and husband Gene of Burleson; sister-in-law, Shirley Miller of Grand Saline; six grandchildren, Logan Lawrence, Lyndsi Lawrence, Landry Tyson, Makayla Thompson, Reese Tyson, and Hannah Thompson; and several other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Thompson, Brian Dale Milliorn, Logan Lawrence, Kelly Miller, Landry Tyson, Daniel Miller, and Rocky Williams.
