Memorial services for Wanda Callaway, 82, of Van, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Bro. David Crain officiating.
Wanda Harris Callaway passed away August 26, 2025, at her home. She was born November 15, 1942, in Chapel Hill, Texas, to Jesse and Ruth Collins Harris.
Wanda was raised in Chapel Hill and married the love of her life, Wilbur Callaway, on December 6, 1962. Together they traveled the country while Wilbur served in the U.S. Army before making their home in Texas, where he worked as a journalist for many newspapers across the state.
Wanda dedicated her career to serving others through the Texas Department of Human Services, retiring after many years of service. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur Callaway; infant son, Kenneth David Callaway; and sister, Maurine Reynolds.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Callaway & wife Doris of Farmersville; daughter, Wendi Callaway of Wills Point; five grandchildren, Jeremy Callaway, Jennifer Callaway, Stormy Moore, Ashton Moore, and Brendan Moore; nine great-grandchildren, Mathew, Konner, Avelynne, Bryleena, Aria, Aaliyah, Chloee, Luke, and Lily; and numerous other relatives and friends.
