Services for Virginia “Jence” Welch, 97, of Eustace, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Pastor Mark Frizzell officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mrs. Welch passed away January 30, 2022, in Eustace. She was born April 27, 1924, in Grand Saline, to Malvin Mason & Sula Sides Allen. She was a resident of Mesquite most of her life, where she was a member of Edgemont Park Baptist Church. She worked for Texas Instruments, as a supervisor in quality control, from the mid 60’s until she retired in 1989. Virginia eventually moved to Kemp with her daughter and son in law, Sue & Seth Adams and later to Eustace with her daughter and son in law, Anne & Glen White.
Flower gardening was a passion of Virginia's. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed the large family get togethers, where she would walk around and check to make sure everyone had enough to eat and were enjoying themselves. Virginia loved crossword puzzles and enjoyed playing solitaire on her tablet in her later years. She had several favorite Bible verses: John 3:16 and 23rd Psalm were among them.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mildred Sellers and Lillian Maline Sullivan; husband, Arthur Harold Welch, Sr.; son, David Harold Welch, Jr.; daughter, Sue Frances Adams; and granddaughter, Misty White.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Lillian Anne White and husband Glen, son-in-law, Seth Adams and wife Judy, daughter-in-law, Ilene Welch; grandchildren, David H. Welch, Jr, and wife Kim, Dwain Welch, Tony Welch, Jennifer Adams Burcham and husband Troy, Seth Adams, Jr. and wife Windy, Don White, Elizabeth Welch Harvey and husband Sam, Chad Taylor and wife Amy, and Randell Taylor; 25 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Welch, Jr., Dwain Welch, Seth Adams, Jr., Don White, Troy Burcham, Zachary Adams, and J. Adam Burcham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Adams, Glen White, Charles Ford, and Joe Sellers, Jr.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Saturday.
