Services for E. B. Whitus, 80 of Mineola, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at Caney Creek Cowboy Church with David Whitus and Bimmy Boyles officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Interment will follow in Cottonwood Cemetery, Golden.
Mr. Whitus passed away April 9, 2012 in Tyler. He was born August 8, 1931 in Wood County to Everett & Beatrice Nichols Whitus. He spent most of his life in Mesquite and then the last 8 years in Mineola. He was a member of Caney Creek Cowboy Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of 56 years, Mary Whitus.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Larry & Tina Whitus of Mineola; four brothers, Ray Whitus of Burkeville, VA, Harvie & Rebecca Whitus of Green Bay, VA, Joe & Beverly Whitus of Terrell, and Windell & Glenda Whitus of Grand Saline; four sisters, Jane & Johnny Curry of Alba, Billie & Bimmy Boyles of Alba, Helen Pomes of Alba and Joy Dowell of Alba; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be John Curry, Jimmy Pomes, Bryan Boyles, Mike Whitus, John Whitus and Dwayne Whitus.
Memorials may be made to Caney Creek Cowboy Church.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
