Services for Alice Carolyn Nichols Williams, 94, of Quitman, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Joey Williams officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.
Mrs. Williams passed away January 29, 2024, in Quitman. She was born June 24, 1929, in Jefferson, to William Cornelius and Nona Rae Dorgan Nichols. On July 9, 1946, she married Ferris Ewing Williams in Hughes Springs. Carolyn had lived in the Alba area for the last 40 years and was a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church. She was known as the best pie maker in East Texas. They were known as “Mama Cat’s Pies.” She sold them to local restaurants and private individuals. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, Ferris Williams; daughter, Dotty Jones; son, Max Williams; two grandsons, Dustin Williams and Chris Owens.
Survivors include her two sons Ron Williams and wife Donna of Granbury and Jimmy Williams and wife Donna of Longview; daughter, Carla Milliken of Jefferson; brother, Carl Nichols of Hughes Springs; two sisters, Jo Black and Lyvonne Hightower both of Hughes Springs; daughter-in-law, Debbie Williams of Hughes Springs; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; best friend, Linda Musselman; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Williams, Corby Williams, Gavin Williams, Jeramy Jones, Sam Jones, Delwyn Black, Tony Terry, and Alan Nichols.
The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
