Services for Mr. Kenneth Dale Williams Sr., 81, of Gun Barrel City, formerly of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Riverside Mission Church with Bro. Donnie Herring and Sis. Delana Wheeler officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Williams passed away August 28, 2015, at his home. He was born November 25, 1933, in Grand Saline (Sand Flat Community), to George Washington & Verda Mae Davlin Williams. He spent most of his life in Grand Saline and served in the US Army and US Marines during the Korean Conflict. Kenneth worked for the City of Dallas for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan Dianne Voyles; grandchildren, Joshua Nathanial Moore and Kevin Lane "Beebo" Strickland II; twelve brothers, Arthur Williams, Luther Williams, Allan Williams, Clarence Williams, Leon Williams, Louie Herring, Ray Herring, Arvel Herring, Benny Gene Herring, Don Herring, Larry Herring and Dean Herring; and six sisters, Gladys Baker, Julia Joyner, Loretta Rhodes, Ruth Ann Klusmeyer, Mary Westmoreland and Lennie Prestidge.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Syble Williams of Gun Barrel City, formerly of Grand Saline; son, Kenneth Dale Williams Jr. of Gun Barrel City; four daughters, Suzette Rene Dopp of Overton, Sheree Lavonne Johnson of Wills Point, Shanene Wanette Kendall of Texarkana and Sahrina Yvette Strickland of Forney; sister, Verda Lee Harvey of Decatur; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Bartley Funeral Home.
