Evelyn Woods

Services for Evelyn L. Woods, 97, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Bartley Funeral Home with Eddy Smith and Chaplain Robert Stovall officiating.

Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery.

Ms. Woods passed away December 3, 2022, in Tyler. She was born April 21, 1925, in Grand Saline, to Joseph Andy & Jewell Estes Wade Linnerman. She lived all her life in Grand Saline, where she was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Evelyn worked for American Recreation in Mineola until age 66. She loved reading, working in her yard, Texas Rangers baseball, and spending time with her family. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Alma Baird, Josephine Hardy, Tom Linnerman, Rosey White, and Mary Boyles.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Woods of Grand Saline, two daughters, Kay Patrick and husband Billy of Golden and Karen Dickerson and husband Larry of Grand Saline; brother, Billy Joe Linnerman of Holly Lake; five grandchildren, Lori Hooton and husband Joey, Julie Cole and husband Josh, Clint Wright and wife Nikki, Chad Wright, and Lee Wright; eleven great-grandchildren, Jagger Wright, Kyd Cole, Thomas Hooton, Allison Hooton, Bailee Bishop, Cooper Christian, Avery Cole, Harper Christian, Levi Cole, Pete Wright, and Trixie Wright; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Clint Wright, Chad Wright, Thomas Hooton, Kyd Cole, Jagger Wright, and Cooper Christian.

Honorary pallbearers will be Neil “Homer” Reid, John Reid, Chris Hass, and Zackey Raymond.

Memorials can be made to the Grand Saline Public Library.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
