Services for James Woods, 83 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Humphreys and Eddy Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Creagleville Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Woods passed away October 14, 2012 in Grand Saline. He was born May 1, 1929 in Jamestown to Paul Bryan & Jewel Blackstock Woods. He spent most of his life in Grand Saline where he attended Caney Creek Cowboy Church and was a charter member of Grand Saline Rodeo Association. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Billie Woods; and brother, Harmon Woods.
Survivors include his son, Jimmy Woods of Grand Saline; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay & Billy Patrick of Quitman, Karen & Larry Dickerson of Grand Saline; brothers and sister-in-law, Paul Woods of Ruidoso, NM, and Raymond and Debbie Woods of Farmers Branch; sisters, Linda Davis of Tyler and Judy Woods of Grand Saline; five grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Butch Koonce, Mark Means, Eddy Smith, Charles Land, Paul Dale McGary and Gayle Lovett.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Coffee Shop Crew.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2012.
