Jimmy Woods

Services for Jimmy Woods, 74, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Eddy Smith and Clint Wright officiating.

Interment will be in Creagleville Cemetery.

Mr. Woods passed away January 29, 2024, at his home in Grand Saline. He was born May 11, 1949, in Grand Saline to James Burlon and Evelyn Linnerman Woods. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Grand Saline. He graduated from Grand Saline High School, Class of 1967. He retired from Morton Salt, after over 40 years of service. He was a member of Caney Creek Cowboy Church and of the Grand Saline Roundup Rodeo Club. Jimmy loved to play baseball in his younger years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Burlon Woods, Sr.; and mother, Evelyn Linnerman Woods.

Survivors include two sisters, Kay Patrick and husband Billy of Quitman and Karen Dickerson and husband Larry of Grand Saline; aunts and uncles, Raymond and Debbie Woods of Farmers Branch, Billy Joe Linnerman of Holly Lake Ranch, and Linda Woods Davis of Tyler; nieces and nephews, Lori and Joey Hooton of Alba, Julie Cole of Winnsboro, Clint and Nikki Wright of Hainsville, Chad Wright of Alba, and Lee Wright of Alba; great-nieces and nephews, Jagger Wright of Golden, Bailee Bishop of Alba, Cooper Christian of Alba, Harper Christian of Alba, Pete Wright of Hainsville, Trixie Wright of Hainsville, Thomas Hooton of Alba, Allie Hooton of Alba, Kyd Cole of Winnsboro, Avery Cole of Winnsboro, and Levi Cole of Winnsboro; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Cory Smith, Scott Riddles, Billye Thompson, Clint Wright, Chad Wright, and Mike Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are Gayle Lovette, Gregg Fisher, Zachy Raymond, Hopper Neal, Ben Koonce, Larry Gothard, Mike Peden, Clay Warner, and Neil Reed.

The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
