ALBA – Services for Jean Carolyn “Weebit” Wright, 70, of Alba, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Sand Springs Baptist Church, Mineola, with Chaplain Robert Stovall and Rev. Kelly Krone officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mrs. Wright passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in a Tyler hospital.
She was born May 14, 1942, in Pleasant Ridge Community, Alba, to the late William Hugh and Vennie Fletcher McKenzie. She married Ferrell Wright June 16, 1962, and lived most of her life in Alba. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Friend and Granny. She loved children and was affectionately known as Grannybit by hundreds of school children. She always had a hug for anyone that needed it, and she will be dearly missed. She was a Christian and member of Alba United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Angie Wright of Mineola, and Kevin and Callie Wright of Alba; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Michael Willey of Tyler, and Amanda and Michael Booth of Alba; brother, William Paul McKenzie and wife Brenda of Alba; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, Ferrell Wright; brother, Alton Randall McKenzie; and sisters, Mary Gay McKenzie and Hughlene Hayes.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
