Graveside services for Mr. JD Yarbrough, 87, Chandler, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Woodside Cemetery with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mr. Yarbrough passed away May 8, 2018, at his home in Chandler. He was born July 1, 1930, in Edgewood to Eron & Edell Caldwell Yarbrough. He spent his early years in Edgewood, thirty-three years in Grand Saline and then the last 27 years in Chandler. He served in the US Navy on the Battleship USS Iowa during the Korean War, retired from Morton Salt after 32 years of service and was a member of the Grand Saline Masonic Lodge 1269 for over fifty years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Yarbrough; two brothers, Aubrey Yarbrough and Hurshel Yarbrough; and two sisters, Pat Yarbrough and Annzean Brown.
Survivors include his son, Jed Yarbrough and wife Mary of Grand Saline; brother, Gerald Yarbrough and wife Geraldine of Lindale; sister, Geraldine Hendrix of Mesquite; one grandchildren, Abby Yarbrough; and numerous other relatives and friends.
