LONE OAK - Services for Rubert Delton Land, 91, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Lone Oak Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Cook officiating.
Interment will be in Weiland Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak.
Mr. Land passed away May 26, 2016, in Greenville. He was born August 21, 1924, in Hunt County to the late Abe & Jessie Mae Wilson Land. He served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Alabama. Rubert married Mary Pearl Crabtree June 30, 1950, in Lone Oak. He spent all of his life around Lone Oak where he was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. He also served on the Lone Oak City Council and was a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Pearl Land of Lone Oak; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth & Marvonne Land of Edgewood; brother, Roy Land of Balch Springs; four grandchildren, Ken & Kristi Land, Jr. of Caddo Mills, Andy Land of Austin, Matt Land of Seattle, WA, and Wesley Land of Hurst; four great-grandchildren, Kirstie, Karson, Macie and Kensi; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Rubert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Homer Land, Coy Land and Truman Land; sister, Doris Nell Combest; and son, Bobby Land.
Pallbearers will be Ray Crabtree, William Powell, Billy Moore, Larry Suits, Johnny Combest, and Dempsey Crabtree.
Honorary pallbearers are the Fidelis Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
