James Lynn Phillips
LONE OAK – Funeral services for James Lynn Phillips, 78, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Bull Creek Cowboy Church, Lone Oak, with Bro. Paul McMerrell and Bro. Larry Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Lone Star Cemetery, Point, under the direction of Bartley’s Lone Oak Funeral Home.
Mr. Phillips passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017, in a Dallas hospital.
He was born November 4, 1938, in Greenville, to the late Henry Ross and Faye Trimble Phillips. He married Lois Myrle House on January 5, 1963, in Point. He graduated from East Texas State University with a degree in Agriculture and owned and operated Phillips Texaco in Point for 20 years. James served in the Army from 1961-1963 and was a member of the Bull Creek Cowboy Church in Lone Oak.
Survivors include his wife, of 54 years, Lois Phillips of Lone Oak; sons, Randy & Dee Ann Phillips of Lone Oak, Dale & Joy Phillips of Lone Oak, David & LaRena Phillips of Lone Oak, and Michael Phillips of Point; grandchildren, Heather, Brooke, Owen, Melody, Brian, LaKayla, Kylee, Lucas, Amanda, Heather, and Lane; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister.
Pallbearers will be James Hogue, Brian Gibson, Joe Adams, Larry Cassell, Tim Northcutt, and John Weaver.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Men’s Ministry at Bull Creek Cowboy Church.
Family visitation will be Saturday from 6-8 p.m.
