Obituary for Sarah Ballard McCarter (Rigsby)

Services for Sarah Ballard McCarter, 75, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Vaughn and Justin Collins officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery.
Mrs. McCarter passed away February 26, 2017, at her home in Grand Saline. She was born February 6, 1942, in Johnson City, TN, to Hurley & Ina Katherine Rector Rigsby. She spent most of her life in Grand Saline where she was a nurse’s aide and a previous member of Richland Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Scotty & Danny Ballard; four brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include her two sons, Todd Ballard and wife Brandy of Grand Saline, Skip Ballard and Tammy Cooper of Wills Point; three daughters, Sheila Thompson and husband Tim of Grand Saline, Theresa Ballard of Grand Saline and Kimberly Ballard of Grand Saline; sister, Evelyn Harwood of Johnson City, TN; seven grandchildren, Timothy Thompson and wife Summer, Tia Collins and husband Justin, Madison Copeland, Emilee Ballard, Cody Ballard, Jacob Ballard and Adam Joslin; seven great-grandchildren, Ana Carver, Madelyn Carver, Kennedy Collins, Payton Thompson, Layla Thompson, Kolbi Thompson and Samantha Collins; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Robert Hammer, Josh Taylor, Adam Joslin, Cody Ballard, Timothy Thompson and Dakota Crow.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Jacob Ballard.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
